Shift Full time Days with Flexible Start times
Qualifications Licenses & Certifications Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the caregiver practices, and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA). May obtain within 6 months based on department discretion. Degrees Associate's Degree in Nursing. Required Functional Experience Requires 3 years of experience in clinical nursing. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must successfully complete on-the-job orientation prescribed for the area assigned. Must meet the 'Performance Standards for Patient Care and Professional Accountability' as defined by the "Annual Performance Review Tool for Professional Nurses."
Duties Performs the nursing process, guided by policies, procedures and standards, to deliver safe, therapeutic, quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Develops a flexible, innovative, and confident self-directed approach to patient and family care. Responsible for putting into perspective their own personal values in order to encourage and support patient and family choices. Collaborates with other caregivers to challenge and coordinate institutional resources to maximize advocacy for patient and family care in achieving the most effective outcomes. Major Responsibilities Possesses an extensive understanding and intuitive grasp of a situation enabling rapid assessment of the whole and attention to the most pertinent. Demonstrates exquisite foresight in anticipating problems and intervenes before explicit diagnostic signs are evident and applies innovative interventions and nursing skills/technology to carefully correlate to the patient's response. Demonstrates a holistic approach to nursing practice committed to meeting the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of the patient and family. Focuses on creating new possibilities for patient care and maximizes patient outcomes in situations that allow only short-term or indirect patient contact. Coordinates resources to provide the highest quality care for patient/family. Communicates clearly and convincingly to make the clinical case in order to obtain timely and appropriate responses from members of the health care team. Negotiates conflict by focusing on patient outcomes and promoting collaboration and identifies dilemmas and offers constructive coping strategies. Prevents future complications or adverse situations through preventive actions.
